What facts make Sterilization crucial?

Because it helps to control overpopulation

Because it reduces spread of diseases

Because it reduces suffering of puppies

Because it decreases aggregation

Because it reduces conflicts and cruelty

Howl For A Bowl is our effort to ensure that hungry, homeless stray animals receive a nutritious meal every day.

We aim to feed over a hundred animals daily. Without reliable food sources, these animals often scavenge through garbage, where they risk ingesting harmful plastic items that can damage their digestive systems and cause severe health issues. Even more tragically, discarded blades can inflict fatal internal injuries within minutes.

We believe that small acts of kindness, like providing food for these animals, can inspire hope and contribute to healing humanity.

Who I am

My name is Sweta, also known as Aastha, and I live in the ancient city of Varanasi, U.P. Born with the rare genetic disorder “Osteogenesis Imperfecta,” my life has been a relentless struggle against the impossible. I have endured more than 120 fractures and undergone 13 surgeries. For the past twenty years, I have been confined to a room, lying on my 4ft Fowler bed, unable to sit. Yet, I have overcome every atrocity and hurdle in life, illuminated by the unwavering love and support of my mother.

When I was 15, doctors coldly declared that I shouldn’t be alive with my severe form of OI and life-threatening health conditions. They advised my mother to spend her time with me, as my days were numbered. In that harrowing moment, I made a profound decision. Just as medical science had forsaken me, I resolved never to forsake those in need. I vowed to do everything in my power to save lives.

For years, I merely existed, alive only because I was breathing. I felt lifeless, my insight of helping others in physical suffering a distant mirage. My world was dark and empty until one day, I witnessed something that shook me to my core. I saw a dog beaten and left to die, struggling to breathe, desperately clinging to life, hoping to see one last time the person who had shown him compassion and love. That sight awakened something deep within me. I understood the true meaning of suffering and pain, and it ignited a fire in my soul.

I rebelled against my circumstances and fought for myself and my mother, the one person who chose to keep me alive while our own family had discarded us. In 2013, I began my journey toward my true purpose. I transformed my pain into power, my suffering into strength.
